blog tag!

14 March 2012

Kristen and Erica tagged me in this chainpost that is currently flitting around the blogiverse. And I'm never one to break any sort of chain anything -- not willing to risk seventy years of misfortune and bad blog karma. Not me.

There are rules, facts, questions, photos, and people that shall be tagged.
Wild ride, folks ... hang on tight ... here vee go.

1. The first rule is to post these rules.
2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 things about yourself/your life .
3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post.
4. Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them.
5. Go to their blog/twitter and tell them that you've tagged them.
I love detailed directions. Thank you, numbered and specific directions.

1. I'm the oldest of seven children ... which is basically an obvious euphemism for, "I'm very mature and responsible and will never have trouble managing my own 18 month old's tantrums".
2. When I was little I had a mushroom cut, wore flannel nightgowns in picturesque fields and was very well behaved.
3. When I was in high school I worked at Hot Dog on a Stick and let my little brothers wear my important hat whenever they pleased.
4. When I first got my braces on, the first colors I requested were black and neon green -- both colors on each tooth -- which matched beautifully with my pink floral dress and white bangs.
5. My mom was a cuter preg than I can ever hope to be.
6. When Facebook first came out I always referred to it as "The Facebook".
7.  At my first jobbity job on big bad Capitol Hill answering phones and sorting facsimiles on one of my first few days I answered a call from Newt Gingrich ... and when taking down his name ... asked, "how do I spell that?" -- I'm still as embarrassed as I should be, don't worry.
8. My new favorite coffee creamer flavor is Almond Joy .. which is sadly .. 'limited edition'.
9. My favorite book used to be Jane Eyre ... until I read Gone with the Wind. And now it's Gone with the Wind.

  3. Oh man, I loved Hot Dog on a Stick. I worked at a Woolworths (back when those were still around in Ohio) and it was in a mall, and right next door was Hot Dog on a Stick. I think I had a corn dog and curly fries and a lemonade for nearly every lunch break. Ah, to have that metabolism again!
