oh, happy day

02 December 2011

Before the hour of 7 a.m. Julia's bath towel had seen her bare body, an entire can of green bean juice (vomvomvom), a lot of baby urine and two cups of coffee. We were a busy team ... but it's okay because Simon volunteered to bachelor pad it up with Sebastian and some serious ounces of Similac (I dare you to judge me) last night so that I could sleep ... with my shirt securely covering my feeding apparatuses (I hate co-sleeping ... sorry I'm really not sorry) ... for four consecutive hours. It was glorious and I promised to give him my next child for his trouble and I woke up ready to conquer the new world ... C. Columbus style. Which for me means ... getting dressed and making cookies (I even tried to get festive and bump some Christmas beats but the gingerbread children didn't like ... too early).  Since going to the store to procure ingredients is out of the question (Julia's car seat is still in pieces in the living room from our road trip when she seriously soiled the seat ... vom some more) I had to work with what we had. ... saltines, butter, sugar and a limited amount of chocolate chips.

Luckily .. Cynthia had posted this recipe on her blog.

Success be mine.

I'll be proudly taking my gems to a resident ping pong party tonight with some Muscato
(which I am told by Simon's little brother is what 'the rappers drink' these days).
yes we get crazy on the weekends

  3. Thank you for posting the link to that recipe! When I was a kid my best friend's mom made those once and then I never saw them again. I've always wondered how to make it.

Hello, by the way, I've been reading your blog for a while now, just hadn't commented yet :)

  4. Ah! I'm so happy you made them. You will have to tell me how they came out! I've been drooling over the thought of them for quite some time now...
I may have to break out my cookie baking tomorrow :)

  5. It sounds like my morning! lol My Little Miss who is about Julia's age thought it would be oh, so fun to wake up at 4:15 this morning and scream her lungs out till we finally let her out of her cage at 5:45. I stumbled out of bed a few minutes ago (the Hubs was on duty) to find Little Guy chasing the dog with a toy shovel and Little Miss had wooden blocks literally all over the kitchen floor... Needless to say, I'm exhausted and cranky.

You're a better mom than I am for being nice and making cookies. =)
