Linking up with Hallie and Katrina

Dress - Old Navy
Clogs - c/o Moheda

Five of my favorite things this week:

1. Kendi (thee Kendi) commented on last week's outfit post and little does she know she's birthed a monster. So this monster's back in an outfit just for you. This was not the case on Monday morning when I was all dressed for the shower (so, you know) and Theo started wailing and I realllllllllllly needed the Bumbo so that he wouldn't wake the older kids and I needed it NOW but the Bumbo was just out of arm's reach outside on the deck. I'll let you guess what I did. No, I'll tell you: I went the lazy and superduperfast route.

2. I told you I was going to try this lotion and let you know how I liked it. Welllll it's been a few months and I am sold. I'm from New Mexico where lotions are a necessity and even though it is humid as h here in St. Louis I still like to slather after every shower. We all know I don't necessarily shower that often but my skin still feels like it was lotioned mere hours (and not DAYS) ago when I find myself with a few too many days betwixt showers. And I mean it hasn't turned my legs into Jane Fondas or anything but ... I think it's helped. Really.

3. I'm super stuck in 2008 with my tankini (mmm you can sort of see it right here) .... I have nothing against the bikini but ... I have every faith that one of my kids would whip the top off in negative seconds flat so ... I'm tempted to try a one piece. Kayla did an awesome roundup of mom-friendly suits that aren't dowdy. I'd like one of each to try please.

4. Theo's new trick! Independence day come early, bebe.

5. Katrina is doing an awesome linkup: Womb Service. Talking about all the different pregnancy cravings people have had (had! not pregnant). Okay - mine were pretty standard and boring. With Julia: ice cream for ever. With the boys: sushi (the mostly safe grocery store kind - I'm only part rebel) and Mcdonalds - together. Go check out the others. Nuh-how.

oh, and have you seen this clip about bitchy resting face?

Well, I have it. I have it goooood.

Happy 3rd.

  1. Love the outfit and I don't see how Jane Fonda's legs could be/are better. You got stems, girl!!!

  2. You are in the Big Leagues, Grace. Kendi?! As in Kendi Everday?! I had to check twice to confirm. I bow my blog in the direction of your outfit posts.

Also, I have a stupid crack (that is sure to deepen with each year) in the middle of my brows from my furrowing resting face. I blame it on this terrible eyesight of mine.

  7. I, too suffer from BRF, unfortunately. My husband once said "I never want to be on the receiving end of that face", and I was all, huh? I'm just standing here.

    1. Hahahaha! That is awesome. I too, suffer from that face. I was a terrible server, because people always told me I needed to perk up.

    2. That's hilarious! I too was a server and my coworkers were always telling me I looked mad. I was like, I'm just in my work mode, so don't bug me hahahaha

    3. Ok only when I read your comments did I get 'the face' and I tell you I'm cursed with the same problem, apparently I look very intimidating cause I look cross- I figured this out, I wear glasses except I never wear them so I'm always squinting at things which apparently looks like you're glaring at people hahaha..

  8. One of the am radio shows has awareness bracelets for BRF. I think I'm gonna get one and wave at the creepy old guys who always say "smile, honey " in the grocery store.

  9. That dress is super cute, it looks way better on you then on the website model. I may need to get one. And a Kendi comment! I'm in awe.

  10. Bitchy resting face?! Haha! I love it! Now I know why I loathe most pictures of myself...I have bitchy resting face. At least it's now been identified as a "thing". All this time I thought I was just homely! Guess I need to make sure I'm smiling 24/7. sigh...

  12. THEE kendi?! you are so blog famous it's not even funny! what a rockstar! cute outfit. oh, and i have bitchy resting face. i have it bad.

  13. Could you get any cuter? Me thinks not. Also, I had the weirdo cravings with both pregnancies..soap, bleach, body scrub and mens body wash. I wanted to eat it all. Apparently it had to do with my dangerously low iron or something, but damn I would have killed to be able to drink a glass of bleach.

  14. very cute and very comfy looking. love the red shoes...love them!

  15. I swear by J.Crew's one piece suits. So comfortable, so flattering, and they last forever. If you catch them on sale (like today, 40% off... or when they are in the sale section and get an extra 30% off) it's worth every penny. I have a long torso and they still fit great.

  16. Had to read #1 a few times before I realized that you were out on your deck sans clothing. Good thing your talkative neighbor didn't spot you! That would have been... awkward!

  17. I love the dress! Super cute and looks like the perfect I don't work today summer outfit that I am in need of. Old Navy, here I come!

  18. You always look so stylish and beautiful. You really are a stunning woman! I do love your resting face. I'm not sure if I have that, I think I just walk around looking confused. *sigh*

  19. i'd say your resting face is more focused and pensive. i wouldn't think "bitch" if i saw it in person. but it is comforting to know that it's a real thing; people have told me like my whole life that my face looks angry. if gravity keeps doing its ugly thing i will definitely be that old women who walks around with a frown all the time, but really is uber happy. note to self: invest in skin tightening cream...

  20. When I grow up I want to have an awesome post 3 babies body that allows me to wear figure huggging clothes just like Grace.. How, how do you do it?!

    ReplyDelete
  21. #1 is awesome.. Totally would have done the same. Amazing how the experience of childbirth and motherhood really relieves you of any feelings of shame and dignity.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Agree with Alexandra. Totally would have crossed my fingers and just dashed like I was in the Olympics.

Muchas gracias for linking up! I had some of my sister-in-law's grocery store sushi two days ago and it's all I've been thinking about since. Gimme gimme.

I'll have to try the Nivea once my Aquaphor runs out, which can't be soon enough.

  23. give me those shoes.

    i hope you wear a 9.5.

  24. I love your outfit posts, for some reason they make me feel like I can wear the same thing, which I can't and never do. But for that brief moment, I am like Ohhhh I could wear that :). So basically your outfit posts are about me :).

  26. I definitely suffer from bitchy resting face as well. I promise I'm not grumpy, just too lazy to lift my eyebrows forever and ever at all times. And (don't take this the wrong way because you are gorgeous and I wish I knew Julia in real life so I could babysit her and teach her mischief to inflict on her brothers) but I've noticed Julia can pull that face too! love it!!
