rockaWho? rockaRoo ... for you {a 4moms giveaway}

02 May 2014

It's official. This is as close as I'm going to get to that coveted second set of hands these days ...

(and I AM warming to baby wearing but I can't wear a baby in the shower and I'm terrible at wearing and eating as evidenced by the glob of ketchup that had been residing in Phoebe's locks until this morning when she enjoyed/screamed through her first bath)

I would imagine if you have kids you've probably heard of the amazing 4moms brand? Hopefully you have. They make some pretty incredible products. I've already talked about how much we love the Breeze for Bash. It's a little bit bigger than the traditional portacrib and handles his rough housing (crib found across the room after his nap ... always) beautifully. I'd read a handful of rave reviews on the rockaRoo and have had it sitting in the basement since January and I could not not not wait to hear what little Phoebe had to say about it ...

... and she said nothing. And at her age that is the best thing to say because sometimes silence is music to a mom's ears. {Unless it has to do with a one Sebastian Patton ... then it's a scratched compact disc of horror music ... guarant.}

I'm still learning how to juggle the varying needs of the four kids while trying to establish some sort of loose daily routine and I can't tell you how much I appreciate being able to have any sort of help with Phoebe. She is a big fan of the lowest setting (there are five speeds) of the rocking motion and I am a big fan of the lowest setting because it has a knack for rocking her to sleep after she's been fed.

That's great, Grace! But what's the difference between the rockaRoo and ye old traditional swing? Good question.
I'll tell you.

Here. It rocks like a rocking horse and "increases the distance from the pivot point and creates more motion at the baby's head - which is where it counts."

"interesting", she says through a yawn.

But really. Would I go so far as to say that this is an essential? Of course not ... but I can tell you that things around here would be a lot more harried and frazzled and dirty diapers would be hitting the fan left and right ... if I wasn't able to count on my bff+e the rockaRoo.  So to me ... in this stage of life ... it totally is.

You know you want one. If not for yourself for your friend that's about to pop. Right? Right.

She dares you.

Here we go with the Rafflecoptering ... may the very best human win.

And many, many thanks to 4moms for their generosity and for saving my sanity on the daily. I've had the great pleasure of working with a lot of different brands and companies and I have to say that 4moms has been top TOP notch to work with!

  1. This looks great, our first baby swing would rock either side to side or front to back. My kids liked swinging both ways and it was a lifesaver at naptime. This would take up much less room and be more portable (I think).

  2. Ooh me please! We managed our first without a bouncy seat but we have a toddler and a baby on the way and I think I'm going to need it more this time. :)

    ReplyDelete
  3. Would love this swing for a friend!

    ReplyDelete
  4. (And the Breeze looks ahhh-mazing too.)

    ReplyDelete
  5. umm..is there anything that wouldn't be amazing to have? The stroller, crib, and rockaroo all look like amazing products!

    ReplyDelete
  6. I would love this for my little one due any day now!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I think as more children come along, things that were once frivolous become essential... at least that's how it works here!! These look awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  8. I've heard awesome things about the RockARoo and the Breeze (esp. for traveling!).

    ReplyDelete
  9. A close friend from tummy time/all my life just had her first tiny human. They would love this!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Definitely the Rockaroo! I have my fourth due in October and all of my previous swings are broken and gone! Need a new one!

    ReplyDelete
  11. While I do plan on purchasing the breeze when we have a second I just love the rockaroo. One of my friends has one, and I would slip my little man into it every time I visited.

  13. I was gifted with one when our second was born two years ago and cried when he outgrew it - we LOVED the mamaRoo (the rockaRoo wasn't available yet)!! I'd love to win one for my best bud who just had twins, bringing the count up to a total of 4 little peeps.

    ReplyDelete
  14. We are currently barrowing one and I love it! Such a space saver!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I want one of these so bad but I'm too scared to register for one because they are a big pricier than other swings. Perhaps you could pull a few strings and help a girl out? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  16. I haven't had a swing since baby #2 due to space issues. But "swings" come in smaller packages now. This would be great to have in the house with baby #7 due this month!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Due in September! Would love the rockaroo or mamaroo!

    ReplyDelete
  18. We're about to have #3 mid-June, and the Rockaroo sounds A.MAZ.ING. We're also traveling a bit in August (a flight with three by myself won't kill me...right? Right??) so a Breeze would be fantastic too.

    ReplyDelete
  19. The rockaroo for sure! Oh man that would be sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  20. We were legit drooling over the rocka roo -- and definitely labeling it a want -- but I'm sure my lil guy would love it. And given our skill at birthing spitters who like to moving sleep, I hope it would come in handy more en el futuro tambien. :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Would be great to win this swing for my baby due in July! :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Due in December with baby #1! I'd kill for a rockaroo or mamaroo!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  27. The rockaroo sounds amazing! Would love one for whenever we have #3-we borrowed a swing with Grace and the one we had for Sophie was for older babies... she would just flop over when we put her in it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I need this!! I mean, future baby needs this

    ReplyDelete
  29. The rockaroo!!I would love to have one! We have the mamaroo, but only one...and we just had two babies. So adding a rockaroo would be amazing!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well.. The origami.. But who can afford that!?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Shared on my facebook timeline too. I don't mess around ;)

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think I'd like the mamaRoo the best. Baby is due in August, guess it doesn't matter what I'd like, will have to ask him!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Definitely that swing! I love the difference between that and a traditional swing!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I've heard such great things about the mammaroi

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh my gosh! This looks like my favorite product. I'm due with number 3 here this summer, and my trusty swing got leant to a friend who forgot to return it before they moved across the country. I'm sad.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm due in August with my second and this has been on my wish list since I first found out I was pregnant!

    ReplyDelete
  37. The Rockaroo looks awesome! I'd love one for my little one due this Fall!

    ReplyDelete
  38. The MamaRoo! Perfect for my friend who is expecting!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Love that it looks as good as it works!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I've heard too many good things about the mamaroo.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I hate gadgets. I'm due with my first, so experienced mothers scoff and tell me I will eat those words. ("Judge away but you will do anything to make a child stop crying," they laugh.) The thought of adding a swing to the list of the many gadgets that people say will save my life *pains* me. So this space-efficient Rockaroo concept? Amaaaazing.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I've heard great things about the mamaroo. However, have never heard about the rockaroo. I'd love to try the rockaroo! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  43. My son is 5 weeks old and would love one of these :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. I have been obsessing over the rockaroo since a friend sang it's praises! I love the breeze too & it would be great for tent camping!

  48. would love the swing for our #3!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Grace, I think I entered! At least tried to while feeding my 1 year old and helping my 3 year old get dressed, lol. This would be absolutely a life saver for baby #3 expected soon:)

    ReplyDelete
  50. I got the gray colored one and you are making wish I had gotten the colored one!!! Can't wait to use mine in a week or so (I'm 39 weeks today!!) But would it hurt to have another one? Why of course not!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Well of course! I'm 40w2d with baby #6, so yeah. To say this would be a bright spot would be an understatement.

    ReplyDelete
  54. This would be so fantastic. I'm due with our 4th in August and would love this!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Mamaroo!!!! Babe #3, appearing this August, told me so!

    ReplyDelete
  56. The rockaroo looks awesome! I have a hand-me-jiggle chair, but so not as awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Yes yes yes! I am due in September and suspect I will be all about things that make babies happy, especially if my back continues to be a problem. (Currently, carrying a 10 month old baby throws it out like no ones business. ugh) Yay giveaways!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I wan the Mamaroo or the Rockaroo! I have the Breeze and love it so far-but I haven't had the baby yet. We're moving two weeks after my due date (batshit crazy, yes?) so I deemed that one an essential for convenience!

  60. Baby#4 is coming must win this!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I was desperate for one of these with my first! He wouldn't sleep anywhere but a swing (even at night), until one morning the motor broke and I cried tears of blood. Or something. He continued to sleep in the (non-working) swing until nearly 8 months, when the sad thing was matted and dirty and practically buckling from the weight of my hulk-child. We are trying for baby number two right now, and so what I'm saying is, he/she maybe deserves something better than the broken swing of doom being stored in the basement? Yes. Definitely yes.

  63. The origami stroller looks cool!

    ReplyDelete
  64. I love the Origami stroller. I would absolutely love the RockaRoo for baby #2. We don't have any space to set up my daughter's giant hand me down swing, this is the perfect size for our tiny living room:)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Mamaroo and rockaroo both look great!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I have been wanting one of these since my first turned one, when he didn't need it anymore- go figure! Needless to say I was a wee bit bummed that I didn't discover it while he was in utero. Even though a new baby didn't work out for this year, here's hoping I'll get preggo again soon and be able to have one of these awesome handmaidens :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. My baby is six months old but heck I still want one! My husband is finishing his second year of med school so I love reading about your crazy life, though it does make me panic about residency! We have three kids and I was wondering where you got your three seat jogger. It doesn't look like that company makes them anymore. Maybe I'm wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant with #2. I really wish I had one of these for #1! Fingers crossed!

    ReplyDelete
  69. I'd love to give this to my friend who just had her second!
