all over the place

21 August 2015

I snagged this from Simon's brother's wedding photographer's site ... sneaky. Anyway, it's Bosco (obviously) meeting his Great Grandma Patton for the first time with Simon's dad in the background (so, four generation!) at the rehearsal dinner. And my wineglass. Frame and blog worthy, I thought.

If you're not on the Snapchat bandwagon yet ... this hilarious AND helpful post will convince you. Probably. Maybe.

After trying and hating close to a million (really) pairs of denim shorts ... I found some winners. Appropriate length without looking like glorified capris and a flattering back pocket situation. They are on sale + 40% off of the sale price with code bday. These look awesome too (because you can't argue with a drawstring).

We keep getting the former owner's catalogues in the mail and they are all screaming, "CHRISTMAS!!" which is insane but that's how the world works these days. I refuse to go into freak out mode until December 21st because Prime, baby BUT last year I used this website to get some cash back and it WORKED. My brother was right. For once. (Just kidding, Dan)

Please tell me you've watched and obsessed Friday Night Lights as much as I have? I hope so. Well, this super scientific quiz will tell you which FNL guy you should date. No, I don't need a life. At all!

One of my favorite people on the internet suggested this book and I bit. And it's good. Real good.

I'm always a good 6 months behind the curve on almost everything and so it would make sense that I started the 21 day fix on Monday. I'm really loving it and I know it's not for everyone but it's helped my energy levels a lot. I never understood why my mom was always talking about needing more energy when I was younger and now .... I get it. The only problem is that the kids + Simon love the shakes a little too much. I'll write a whole post when I'm done ... if I'm brave enough to post before + after pics. We'll see!

Okay. Tgif. Friyay. All of that. And a bag of baby carrots.

  1. I read an advanced copy of the Royal We because my friend is in editing and I agree it's so good. I loved it. I can't wait to read your post on the 21 day fix. I've been thinking about it but I'm not sure I'm ready to commit quite yet. And even if I do it will have to wait until after my marathon training.

  2. FYI I think both links for the shorts are for the same pair?

I got Coach Taylor. *raised hands + heart eyes* #homewrecker

  3. Omg I just recently got on the FNL bandwagon. I want to take the quiz but scared I wont get Tim haha! Why can't they ever give him a break on the show?

  4. I can't wait to hear how this 21 day thing goes. I clicked that link as well and was intrigued. My main question is can you have beer during those 21 days. I'm guessing not so I will continue researching diets that include plenty of beer! Although perhaps I could pour beer into the carb container and that would be okay?? Have a great weekend!

  5. Okay so who did that FNL quiz give you? Me--Landry. Who, yeah, totally get why it gave me him, but I wanted Saracen. QB7 forever. (Okay yes, Riggins for hotness, but never would work for me.) Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose=full obsession.

  6. Second comment award goes to me! This is why I should read your whole post before commenting, but I got distracted by FNL as one does. Sorry not sorry. Anyway, I LOVE the Royal We. I've been a fan of the Fug Girls for years and years, and even I was surprised by how much I loved the book. I seriously did laugh AND cry. If you read their site there are also a lot of little things that are almost shout-outs to their readers. Nothing that distracts from the book, but just things that they kind of obsess or talk about often. They are smart, witty women.

  8. How did those gap shorts fit? I see a lot of reviewers say to size down (anywhere from 1-3 sizes!), did you have to size down?

  10. My sister got me the Old Navy equivalent of those shorts and I love them. I have basically been wearing them all summer.

Oh my, already took the quiz yesterday and was pretty pleased to get Coach Taylor. Does that make me 50? I don't know and I don't care. Just call me Tammy.

I finished The Royal We last week and loved it. It was almost embarrassing how much I enjoyed it. I just let the kids play outside for two days while I didn't watch them and sat under the tree and read all day.

  11. I love that you are obsessing over Friday Night Lights. I've lived in Austin for 13 years, and we always used to exclaim, "I've been there!" at various points throughout the show. We recently re-watched it all, and were shocked to realize that not only had we been there, we LIVED there! I realized that the whole show had been filmed in the neighborhood where we bought our house! I literally ride by Coach Taylor's house on my morning bike ride every single day. And the Riggins house is just a block over. And our Dairy Queen is the Alamo Freeze, and and and, it goes on and on!

    So neat!!!

  12. Ok, so before I clicked to see what the book was I guessed it was "The Rabbit Who Wants to Fall Asleep." Because ya know, getting your kid to sleep is never far from a mom's mind. I read about it here but want to know if it works in real life https://www.yahoo.com/health/the-rabbit-who-wants-to-fall-asleep-why-this-127159158832.html

But let's be honest, The Royal We sounds like a way better read.

  13. Wait, they let people who are old enough to physically HAVE the children who play on snapchat play too? I'm in. I thought I was DQ'd on a technicality.

  14. I am also doing the 21day fix! i have never been excited with a program, since 2008 (when zumba became all the craze) I didn't enjoy Ripped in 30 :(

are you following the containers strictly? My BB coach mentioned that the fix does not have a lot of healthy fats needed for breastfeeding. I follow everything else per my current weight (# of containers etc) just loosely with the healthy fats.

Do you think you will continue shakeology?
I did not order the starter pack and I am debating. Currently, I am doing green smoothies with mango/water/peach Or some other fruit variation with kale and spinach. I realized when I started the fix that I was not getting enough veggies.

post your review! I am on the second week and so far energy levels are up and that's even following it "loosely"

  17. I have the 21 day fix and have been doing the Extreme workouts but haven't been organized enough to plan my meals and do the food. Umm, if you can find the time to plan meals with all you have going in in your life, I have no excuse!!! Actually, in your spare time, please email me your meal plan. With ingredient . And a shopping list :). Have to make myself a priority stat!

  21. My Friday Night Lights obsession is out of control and I'm not sorry about it. I took the quiz and got Coach Taylor which is perfect as he is my dream guy. If husbands aren't like him, I don't want one. Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose!
