blogs, Bosco, books, and more ...

07 August 2016

You thought you got away with a quick takeless Friday, didn't you? Well, you did but I'm making up for it with a late Sunday linkup -- real quick like.

1. Before I forget -- I'm having a little closet sale over here. Fun fun fun.

2. I WAS going to type that I was enjoying some peace and quiet thanks to napping children but Bosco woke up, cackled, cried, and said, "nope" ...

... it's okay. I guess.

3. It's been over a year since I ordered my first pair of leggings from here and I'm still a huge fan -- 52ish washes later. They've held their shape, haven't pilled, and are a nice rise that doesn't fall down but isn't all up in your rib cage grill - you know? I know you do. If you use my affiliate link you'll get half off your first outfit and help feed my legging addiction .. win/win.

4. The majority (I'm sure I'm missing a few!) of blogs I read are over on my sidebar but I'm always in the market to add more to my feed if you have any favorites/suggestions. Or maybe you blog? I'd love to take a gander if you leave the address in the comments!

5. Did you watch Bachelor in Paradise? I wish they'd just let the Chadsanity go. I'm so glad Sharleen is recapping the crazy and I kind of love that she's buds with Nick because I know he was always the villain but (don't hate me) -- I don't hate him.

6. The friend I pester the most for book recommendations (because she has the best taste!) sent me The Night Circus and I'm so excited. I'll keep you posted but I'm guessing it'll get five fat stars.

7. Okay well Simon and the kids just came rolling in with their school supplies loot so it's time to put everything up, away, and under lock and key before Phoebe wakes up and takes advantage of the millions of new crayons situation.

Happy (rest of your) Sunday!

  3. I LOVED the Night Circus! So lovely and dreamy (in a good way). If you enjoy that, you might also enjoy Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke, which revolves around 19th century (fictional!) rival magicians in London.

  12. I've been blogging for almost 12 years but I only recently started daily blogging again. Life is interesting as we are in a custody battle for my little granddaughter... and I'm learning to adapt to decreasing mobility because of advanced arthritis in my spine. 33. Ok, The Night Circus. It starts off SO strong..like I was wondering why it wasn't a movie yet because of the potential for amazing visuals. It's enchanting. But then it kind of...peters out. At the end I was just like, "...huh. That's how they wrapped it up?" The idea was strong! I just felt like the story could have gone better.

  34. I love BIP more than I love The Bachelore(tte). I mean, it's just so dramatic and so good. And I'm glad Carly is back because she cracks me up. I hope Chad is just playing a character because if he's actually really like he's portrayed... shudder.

I can't wait to see what happens!

  39. I always think I’ve read The Night Circus but I’m actually thinking of Water for Elephants. Did you read that one? I can’t remember if I liked it. I remember taking my husband’s grandma (who had also read it) to the movie and her saying “Well I thought that was A LOT better than the book!” but I don’t remember if I fervently agreed or disagreed. Not helpful, sorry.
Well, I’d love for you to check out my blog! I’ll be contacting you about advertising for a birth story project soon so you may as well go check it out now ;] www.skbellblog.blogspot.com

  40. My heart breaks a little bit when I hear a baby cry before I'm expecting them to wake up from naps. I love reading Garvin & Co., Carolina Charm, Peanut Butter Fingers, and yours, of course! I recently started a blog mostly for friends and family to keep up with my kids, one of who happens to be named Grace! I swear I'm not a stalker though, just a coincidence :) I'm hoping to eventually add in other content, when I get brave enough.
