I don't know what's gotten into me but I've been a bit of a crazycake wanting to get the house not looking like a lone college male with zero desire to decorate lives here. Lucky Simon. Along with obsessing about keeping the (always, always, always dirty) floors clean like I did before Sebastian was born, I just really am fixed on the notion that it's important for the baby to come home to a soothing environment with prints and photos on the walls, matchy (but not toooo matchy!) throw pillows on the couches and a rug on the living room floor. Lucky for the baby, for my sanity, and for Simon, Mohawk Home very generously sent this beautiful area rug for the living room.
Behold the before ....
and the after...
(the couch at a diagonal angle is obviously a temporary barricade-Basher-from-the-tree thing)
Much improved, right? Oh, I know we aren't going to be featured on Little Green Notebook tomorrow or anything but Simon said it really warms the place up and I agree. Since our entire main floor is without carpet, it's been a nice and welcome change being able to change diapers somewhere other than the ridiculous changing table, watch the kids only half kill (instead of 98% kill) themselves while wrestling on the floor, and to feel a little more grown up in my own living quarters.
It took me a really long time to narrow down my final choice because Mohawk has almost infinite options on their website and on the sites of their retailers. Every single Mohawk rug is still manufactured right here in America and I dare you to not spend a good chunk of your day browsing their selection and being as indecisive as I was.
You have the chance (well ... 25 potential chances!) to win a 5x8 area rug of your choice (up to a $150 value!) right here ... many thanks to Mohawk Home for being so generous!!
