Can you dig deep into the archives of your razor sharp memory and remember my unfortunate culotte purchase?

I know you can.

After finally folding the Kilimanjaro of all Kilimanjaros of cold laundry this morning, I found and remembered it too. I carried the kids downstairs, turned a blind eye as they played with forbidden treasures (toilet water and toilet paper) and transformed the wannabe skort into a skirt.
And then I put it on slightly crooked and took a photo with the sun hitting the front seam just right so that you can't exactly see it screaming, "I used to be ginormous shorts!!!"

And then I valiantly rescued Sebastian from Julia who was so smartly using a cup to very efficiently transfer the water over onto his unamused and nearly drowned face.

  1. Grace, I just want to say "thank you" from the bottom of my heart for your blog posts. I am the first-time mommy to a 2 month old little boy, and if it weren't for your rants, confessions, and hilarious descriptions, I would feel like I am the only one who has moments of insanity. (Moments? I meant whole mornings.) You sound like a wonderful mother and thank you for your honesty!

  2. Cute! You're so good at that. I wish I had the patience, and a sewing machine, and a giant pair of culottes to transform as well. Btw, gave you a shout out on the blog today...:)

  12. I have a love/hate with your before and afters. I love because it looks great, obv. I hate because you always look great... even in the before... even in the culottes... to the point that I think your before is the after, and I become confused. I should be humiliated, and maybe I am.

  14. Is it pathetic that I've been thinking about this ever since you posted the culottes pic, and have wondering whether and hoping you would turn them into a skirt and then post about it? And that I'm now all a-flutter because it looks even better than I imagined? Or, if not simply pathetic, is that stalker-scary? Or...awesome?

  17. I tried to bathe Ellen in the shower this morning and almost drowned her. Oops.

Also, I love the skirt, but, for the record, you totally rocked those hammer shorts.
