do what you gotta do

...even if it means propping a teeth rotting bottle up with the crotch of a teddy bear for a mucho, mucho sicko Julio. And admitting that you are getting soft ... way too soft.

If you need me for seasoned and successful parenting advice ... I'm sorry ... I'll be very busy on the frantic hunt for my formerly hardened heart ... or refashioning a bottle hammock every 34 minutes for the rest of the feverish night while intermittently dreaming about coughy.

  1. You know they are sick when you have to do that. Ugh, I hope they get better soon for your sake.

  2. teddy bear crotch. Omg I just died. Grace, even on the brink of a pestilence-induced nervous breakdown you are the funniest thing on the internets...

ps Dave just looked over my shoulder and saw a pic of Julia in her blue checked button down and asked 'Oh, is that Joey?'... now I don't how either of us should feel.

  3. Second the "teddy bear crotch" comment...LMAO..can't breathe. At least you can give her a bottle. The last time the twins were that sick, they MADE me hold them, while screaming in my ear, and breathing sick breath all over me. Fun. Sooo fun. I hope it passes for you like now....:(

  4. At this stage of our game, there are no rules besides a very slight few. As my mother says in regards to "child-rearing Nazi informants" , "If the child is still doing that when they are 10, then maybe we should do something about it. Until then, carry on."

  6. Bummer to have a sick little one. I feel kind of guilty. My girls haven't wanted/needed a bottle or cup to fall asleep since they were about 4 months old. We have never given them a bottle in their cribs, because they never want or need one. This is not judgement by any means. Trust me! They did that on their own. Also, they are fully addicted to their pacifiers for sleep purposes. I lost sleep last night thinking about the terror of taking their pacifiers away in a couple months, when they turn two!

  7. I don't know if you heard stories about Dr. Enders but I'm sure he would die if he saw this picture. Which, according to my line of thinking, means you're doing a hell of a job parenting. :)
