London Fog

14 September 2011

Why haven't I done an alteration to showcase in a few minutes? I don't know! I'm not feeling feverish or anything. I'll remedy my absence today...with some scary never before seen territory: a jacket fix.

I know true jacket weather has yet to descend upon the majority of the States United and I'm not begging the cold weather to get here anytime soon as I loathe the winter months but I found this London Fog jack at the Goodwill and obviously um...bought it. However ... always one to be extremely cognizant of the forecast...yesterday's high was an unpleasant 92 degrees and today's high is a mere 68 -- scratch that -- this just in -- high of 62 -- brrrrr complete with lots of rain...which is most certainly jacket weather by my nonpregnant self's standards. So the timing isn't that far off.

It think it is a men's medium which isn't terribly large on my frame but the sleeve/wings needed to be nipped quite a bit...
So I shaved the sleeves quite a bit and almost broke two needles in the process and also did the whole 'sew a new seam up the back to tighten things up' ... being optimistic about my post baby winter/spring body ... we'll see.

In hindsight..I should've just given it to Simon because the makeover wasn't alllllll that impressive...but it fits and is functional and obviously v. v. v. v. v. v. fashion forward.

I asked Simon to take a photo of the finished product and these are the best images he could muster
 fuzzy belly
and fuzzy bun

so I took matters into my own self timing hands
I made the baby hold his/her breath, zipped up the jack, put on my khaki jeans and mom clogs
scolded my mom clogs and called it a day/success/whatev

Julia went to bed at 6:00 and I don't know what on earth to do with myself.
I'm like a puppy sans master, tortoise sans shell, Lucy sans eye
useless

adee-ose.
